JOB DESCRIPTION

Located in the centre of Newtown, famous for art and culture,we are a Pottery-making Japanese eatery that takes pride in providing the best and creative Japanese dining experience for our customers.

Having been open for over 9 years we are a well established restaurant ourselves with an amazing customer base. We are seeking multiple enthusiastic wait-staff, bartenders, front of house, and kitchen staff to join our team.Working in a fast- paced restaurant where you will be serving or creating a wide range of authentic and fusion Japanese dishes

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, processing payments, providing change, and reconciling cash drawer at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking supplies and cleaning glassware.
  • Interact with guests in a friendly and attentive manner, taking drink orders and providing recommendations when requested.
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service guidelines and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other bar staff and kitchen team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
  • Greet guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests, providing detailed descriptions of menu items and offering recommendations when requested.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, processing payments, providing change, and reconciling cash drawer at the end of the shift.
  • Serve food and drinks to guests in a courteous and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to requests for additional items or special accommodations.
  • Monitor tables for any signs of dissatisfaction and take proactive steps to address concerns and ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate food and beverage service and ensure timely delivery to guests.

Schedule: 16– 24 hours per week

Requirements :

- RSA (preferred)

- Customer service experience - 2 years ***required ***

-Bar experience 1 year

- Good communication skills (preferred)

Trial Day Tasks:

During the trial day, the candidate will be expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Customer Service
  • Cash Handling
  • Table Service
  • Beverage Preparation

Job Type: Casual

 

Pay: $29.30 per hour

 

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Food & Beverage Attendant

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years experience as a waiter in a similar environment
  • Excellent food and wine knowledge
  • A strong understanding of run of service in a busy restaurant/café
  • Experience using POS systems
  • Able to carry 3 plates (or willing to learn how)
  • An expert communicator – with customers and fellow staff
  • Applicants must be flexible and be available to work a variety of day and weekend shifts
